...well, isn't it?!
I've been driving some sort of SUV for the past three decades as my main get-around vehicle. With gasoline prices edging up towards the ridiculous side of higher-than-high, and the fact that I won't be schlepping large furniture down to Camas Antiques after June (we use a UHaul truck for shows like BarnHouse....) I started thinking it just might be time for me to get something more economical...and fun.
So, for about about a month...I thought about it.
And, for another month...I thought about it some more.
Loooong story short, last weekend I (and by "I" I mean my Rock n' Roll Buddy) listed and sold my big ol' rig. I then came full circle back to the first car I ever owned...only now they make 'em way cooler, (way more cool?) with heated seats and power windows, and a really slick automatic convertible top that even I can work with ease.
Oh, yeah baby. I'm lovin' it.

Dream car!
ReplyDeleteLove it!!
Hi Tracey! With the plans to moving to southern California, I've been thinking of trading in my SUV for one of those bugs. I'm still on the fence though. My dog Mishka requires a ramp to get into the back of my car. I'm not sure he'd be able to climb into the backseat of one of those "buggers". Oh well, I'll just keep dreaming.
ReplyDeleteThat is a cute car.
ReplyDeleteIt's adorable! You'll have so much fun bombing around town in that bug.
ReplyDeleteI love VW's....ever since the 60's when Herbie made them popular. I'd like to have a purple one. Sweet!
ReplyDeleteHow cute as a bug is that! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteOh, that is way cooler!!! lol! Congratulations, Tracey! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteTOOT TOOT I have the brother BUG to yours, midnight blue so I call it BB, Blue Bug or Beach Buggy. You'll LOVE IT, especially at the gas pump.
ReplyDeletelove it Tracey! I have a photo of a vintage all white convertible that I simply drool over. Hmmm maybe a new model would be more practical?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it! You can always put the top down to make room for small pieces of furniture for yourself, right?
ReplyDeleteHow fun!! What a cute, cute ride!!!

Looove it, I think it's just what YOU needed! I got my dream car two summers ago(a Prius),it's not as cute as your bug, but I'm having so much fun with it. I think you'll sqeeze more into that little cutie than you think...You have tons of head room!!! :) Debbie @ Cottage Hann~Me~Downs
ReplyDeleteI love your new Bug even more than I hate SUV’s. Cuter and more economical, LOL. I have a Prius like commenter Debbie, and I love it. Last summer we got 56 mpg on one tank (on the road). But there’s nothing like a VW Bug to take us, um.... people “of a certain age” back to our youths. Congrats and ENJOY!! Hugs, Cathy
ReplyDeleteOK now I'm jealous. Does it have that cute little vase to hold a flower? My save gas car is a honda civic not half as fun as your car.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Kathy
I have the mellow yellow 2003 convertible - one of the best things I have ever done for myself!! Enjoy every mile! Nanc
