Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for all the comments on yesterday's post! I brought home a pitcher of roses from the party..er...the wedding!...and I smile each time I look at them. I don't think I will ever be able to be that surprised again in my life time. Such a thrilling, fun feeling!(Click here to see MORE pictures...from the photographer!)
I spent Sunday afternoon baking in the kitchen while my Rock n' Roll Buddy held band practice in the living room. I'll be giving out my goodies to neighbors, and friends...
I went with a white Christmas baking theme for the most part this year. I'll add ribbon wrapped milk bones for my neighbors next door that have pups.....
.....I stuck with my old stand by, favorite recipes...snowballs, and star shaped sugar cookies......
I also dipped pretzels in white chocolate and sprinkles for more added frosty white bling.
So pretty and so yummy! What about you? Do you go with a theme (snowmen? Stars? Red and Green?) when baking for the holidays?
I am up late...too excited to sleep. My youngest and her beau surprised me by pulling up in front of the house...Christmas lights blazing INSIDE the car...after telling me for months that work wouldn't allow them to travel the 7 hours home for the holidays. Surprises ARE the best, but surprises from our children are the the BESTEST!
ReplyDeleteNow that my littl'un is home and asked..."Aren't we baking?", I've been searching my fave blogs for ideas, and yours fills the bill! White seems appropriate this year! I'm going with snickerdoodles and snowballs and something with coconut (got plenty on sale!). What a wonderful holiday this is turning out to be! Have a great one!
Rachel

ReplyDeleteI was at Multnomah Falls a little over a year ago, and had lunch with my husband on that terrace..wonderful food and view..
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely perfect setting..and surprise.
I wish I was your neighbor. OK, I admit it....I hate baking. I like cooking but baking, forget it. I made chocolate chip cookies today does that count? I'll head to Little Italy to get my holiday treats haha.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Kathy
Oh, Tracey! I'm so happy for you and your family! What an incredible way to send off 2011 and look forward to 2012! It is wonderful to see your daughter so happy.
ReplyDeleteTracey, I love all your stories and pictures that accompany them. I am so similar, I love to bake at Christmas time, usually cookies, of course, but i make 4 or 5 different kinds of biscotti. My neighbors / Bob's work, my work, the mail lady, any services people. The look festive, taste wonderful, and even freeze well. I did the pretzels with white chocolate this year, but dipped in crushed candy cane bits. That flavor of salty and sweet with peppermint is a surprise to the senses. Feliz Navidad de Nuevo México .......Tracey!!!
